Approved Institute of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB)
Airmen Training Institute is the premier institute for Aviation maintenance training in Bangladesh. It was established to train Bangladesh Air Force Airmen only for her own aviation maintenance. Now this institute is certified and authorized by Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) as an Approved Maintenance Training and Examination Organization in compliance with PART-147 to conduct training and examination for all potential participants -- civil or military, national or international keeping no bounds for producing aviation maintenance specialists.
Our Success
Since its inception, a total of 71,018 trainees from Bangladesh Air Force and MODC have completed various courses from the Airmen Training Institute. In addition, 362 trainees from Bangladesh Army, 535 trainees from Bangladesh Navy, 21 trainees from BGB, 103 civilian trainees and 282 trainees from Sri Lanka Air Force have successfully completed training from this institute.
Airmen Training Institute is proud to receive the BAF Flag in 2018 in recognition of its extensive experience, knowledge, quality training and professional achievements. It is to be noted that for the first time during the annual visit of the Chief of Air Staff to Airmen Training Institute in 2014, the Chief of Air Staff and the invited guests commended the captivating PT display and arms display performed by the trainees of ATI. Following the laying of the foundation stone of Airmen Training Institute by Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of People's Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina on October 25, 2018, the construction work is progressing fast on 36.2 acres of land.
Due to the construction of the new building underway, the classrooms and labs of old Aero Engineering Training Sqn are temporarily re-located to the newly established female barracks for conducting training activities smoothly. All classrooms are equipped with standard and modern PA systems and Projectors. In addition, ID production cell has been established to ensure the provision of computerized laminated identity cards for the trainees. A modern and up-to-date website has been set up by updating all the information regarding training activities and officers and personnel of ATI.
According to the standards of European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the new version of module for Airframe Fitter, Engine Fitter, E&I Fitter, Radio Fitter and IT Asst has been released. Training is currently being conducted in the Blue, Yellow and White class program for the TTB and TTA courses each year. As a result, the activities of Airmen Training Institute are being carried out quite successfully and we believe that this will continue in the future.
